We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible was written by prophets and apostles who were chosen and divinely inspired by God. It is, therefore, the only book that humanity possesses that can be considered God’s flawless Word to us.

2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 17:17; Matthew 5:17,18

God
We believe in One God, infinitely perfect, and eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Timothy 1:17; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

God, the Father
We believe God reveals Himself as a loving Father who seeks to be reunited with His children. Jesus introduced God as Father to His followers and continues to reveal Him to us today. He is a protective, loving Father who desires heart-to-heart relationship with those who accept His plan for salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice and provides for His children’s needs.

Matthew 6:5-13; Matthew 6:24-34; Matthew 7:7-11; John 14: 15-23; 1 John 3:1

Jesus, the Son
We believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, God, who became a human being. He lived a perfect life, yet died on a cross to serve divine justice by taking people’s sin on Himself.  He rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, to give us eternal life and a reborn spirit.

Colossians 2:9; John 1:1; Galatians 4:4; Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 4:15; Acts 2:22,23; 1 Peter 3:18; Colossians 2:13,14: 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 1:7; 1 Corinthians 15:4; Mark 16: 9; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; Matthew 24:30

The Holy Spirit
We believe in God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives within people from the moment their trust is placed in Jesus to be rescuer and Lord, securing their salvation. This begins the continual process of becoming more and more like Jesus as the Holy Spirit directs and comforts.

Acts 5:3,4; Romans 8:9-11; Romans 8:12-14; Galatians 5:16-25; Acts 1:8; Matthew 10:19,20; John 10:10, John 14:26; 15:26,27

People
We believe that people are separated from God because of natural selfishness called sin. Therefore, people need to be rescued and reunited with God. God made one way for this to happen and that is through Jesus. People need only to say yes to God and accept the gift of forgiveness that Jesus offers, to experience eternal life with Him.

Jesus instructs His followers to communicate His offer of forgiveness resulting in an eternal and purpose-filled life with other people. Although all people experience life after death, only those who accept His death and resurrection live eternally in heaven.

We believe God ordained marriage when He created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, to be the foundation for human existence. A man and woman together in marriage is the reflection of the nature of God.
